In 2004 only stamps could be purchased in newsagents but the Post Office did leave a pillar box.

The Society of Olympic Collectors sponsored this postmark to commemorate the 2004 Athens Olympics and the Olympic torch being relayed around Britain via Wimbledon where it was carried by Tim Henman. It also marked the first year that the Games were held in London in 1908.

The postmark was limited to one date only, Saturday, 26th June 2004

To obtain the 2005 commemorative postmark it was necessary to send a stamped addressed cover to LSHC, Mount Pleasant.

Sunday, 3rd July was the last day of the 2005 Championships and the very last day that the LSHC used a changeable date stamp for the commemorative postmark.
