Spoilage stamps may be an interesting addition to a specialized collection of Polish post stamps. There are controversies surrounding the origin of some of these stamps; it is unknown how some of them ended up on the market.

Commemorative stamp series marking 15th anniversary of Polish People’s Army was issued and introduced on 1st October 1958 by the Ministry of Communication (Dz.Ł. nr 22/1958, 126, poz. 165). Stamps were printed in PWPW by rotogravure technique on white woodless thick and smooth paper as well as on white thick, slightly horizontally striped paper. Stamps were printed in 70-stamp sheets, 10 x 7 items.

The Fischer Catalogue lists three spoilage stamps: the 1532 MK (costing 20 gr), the 1534 MK (costing 60gr) with a description indicating the significant misplacement of the brown colour and the 1539 MK (7zl 10gr) which misses the brown colour completely.
Here are two uncatalogued spoilage stamps of the 1532 MK stamp (20gr) which display a significant misplacement of the purple and the blue colours and two uncatalogued spoilage stamps of the 1534 MK stamp (60gr) which display a significant misplacement of the green and the brown-reddish colour.

Browsing through the latest Polish Stamps Catalogue (Fischer, 2015) I have noticed that no error regarding FI 3535 stamp had been duly noted. The stamp in question was issued in 2001 to celebrate Salesians of Don Bosco Games. A few years ago I noticed a bright spot on one of competitor’s no. 14 palm. Repetitive error occurs on stamp no. 8, sheet sector no. 4, bottom right. Since then I have seen a dozen of stamp sheets from the same sector and the repetitive error was always present. In the picture attached below you can notice the stamp sheet with a stamp error marked. You can also find a comparison of a competitor’s no. 14 palm with (on the right) and without the error.
